ভাষা আন্দোলন ও তৎকালীন সংবাদপত্র: একটি সাধারণ পর্যালোচনা
Abstract:
The Language Movement of 1952 is an important event in our national life. Before the partition of India and Pakistan, a dispute arose over what would be the state language of Pakistan. Despite the fact that the majority of the people of East Pakistan spoke Bengali, the West Pakistani ruling class wanted to forcefully adopt Urdu as their state language. These news items regarding the state language were published in various newspapers at that time. The Daily Azad was one of them. Initially, the newspaper took a mysterious position on the issue of the state language, but later it played an active role on the issue of the Bengali language. Finally, after various ups and downs, when the people of this country came together to make no concessions on the issue of language, Bengali and Urdu were recognized as the state languages of Pakistan. Based on the resolution of this language issue, this country later emerged as an independent and sovereign state through various movements and struggles, most recently in 1971 through the 9 month Great Liberation War.
